Teach preschoolers about the colors red, pink and white with an ice cream cone project. Print out large ice cream scoop and cone coloring sheets. Give each student one cone sheet and three scoop sheets. Instruct the children to color the ice cream scoops red (for cherry flavor), pink (for bubblegum flavor), and to leave the white one blank (for vanilla flavor). They can color the cone brown if they wish. Ask them to cut out their cone and scoops and glue them together, stacking the ice cream on top of the cone.
Print out a variety of coloring pages of objects that are usually red, pink or white. Images might include apples, flamingos and rabbits. Go over each image with the class and ask students to shout out what the object is and what color it should be. Give the students crayons or markers and allow them to color in the different coloring pages. For the white objects, instruct the kids to color in the eyes, ears and nose of the rabbit, for example, and to leave the body white.
Gather small rocks and paint them red, pink and white. Take empty egg cartons and paint the egg cups red, pink and white as well. Hide the rocks in a classroom or playground sandbox. Instruct the children to go to the sandbox and dig for the colorful rocks. Ask them to drop the rocks into the egg carton matching the color of the rock with the color of the egg cup. This fun game teaches them to identify and distinguish the three colors.
Have your students make their own box of chocolates to take home to their mom or dad. Make stencils of a large heart and small circles out of thick paperboard. Give students red, pink and white construction paper. Instruct them to make the chocolate box by tracing the heart stencil on the red construction paper. The kids can make the white chocolates and strawberry (pink)-flavored chocolates by tracing the circle stencils on the white and pink paper. Ask them to cut out their circles and heart and glue the chocolates in the box. Give them crayons or markers to decorate the box as they wish.
