Fun Snacks for Preschool

Parents want preschool snacks to be nutritious, but kids want something fun and entertaining. Recipes for preschool snacks should be altered to remove common food allergens like peanuts and milk. Peanut butter, for instance, can be replaced with soy butter or sunflower butter.
  1. Banana Boats

    • Peel a large banana and cut in half. Stick a pretzel stick in the middle of one half. Cut a triangle out of a sheet of dried fruit or fruit leather. Add a bit of soy butter or sunflower butter to the edge of the pretzel stick and attach the sail to the banana boat.

    Ants on a Log

    • Cut a large celery stalk in half. Smear soy butter or sunflower butter in the crevice of one celery stalk. Add raisins on top of the butter to create small ants on a log.

    Gone Buggy

    • Smear soy butter or sunflower butter on top of a round cracker. Cut strips of celery stalk or baby carrots to create legs and antenna. Press the thin vegetable slices into the butter for bug legs and antenna. Add raisins for bug eyes.

    Marshmallow Caterpillars

    • Connect miniature marshmallows in a chain with pretzel sticks. Use different marshmallow colors to create colorful caterpillars. Add pretzel sticks for antenna.
