Ideas for Fun Preschool Teacher Awards

An anonymous person once said, "Teachers don't impact for a year, but for a lifetime." Preschool teachers are the first impact children experience in the school system. They welcome your children and teach them the basic principles of learning. Show your preschooler's teacher how much you appreciate their work by rewarding them with a special surprise. Creating a personalized plaque, giving the gift of something they truly enjoy or making them the guest of honor for an afternoon are all ways to present an award of sorts to your child's preschool teacher.
  1. Give a Gift That's Picture Perfect

    • Reward a teacher with a class picture you place on a plaque. Craft stores and professional engraving stores feature plaques in unique shapes. Because the term "teacher" is often associated with apples, try to locate a plaque in the shape of an apple. Make sure the plaque is large enough to accommodate a 4 inch-by-6 inch photo and a 2 inch-by-3 inch nameplate. The plaque should come with a photo slot that is attached permanently to the plaque, which will allow you to switch photos as needed. Purchase a nameplate backed by adhesive so you can have it engraved with the teacher's name and the year the award was given before you place it on the plaque. Ask staff members of your local craft store for suggestions regarding places that offer engraving services. Before giving the award to the teacher, fill it with your own photo by taking a class picture and inserting it into the frame attached to the plaque.

Allow Her to Choose Her Own Gift

    • Many people may disregard giving someone a gift card as taking an easy way out but most teachers adore them. Give her the gift of something special she will truly love by purchasing a gift card for her from a memorable store or place that offers a particular service, such as a day spa. Ask the teacher about her interests and where she likes to shop. Find out if she enjoys going to a specific spa by asking her to give you a recommendation for a great place to get a massage or a pedicure. Giving your child's teacher a gift card may just be the greatest gift of all.

Plan a Luncheon to Honor the Teacher

    • Talk with the other preschool parents and work together to plan an unforgettable lunch catered by - who else? - the preschoolers. Parents, however, can certainly help their young chefs or make them into esteemed assistants. Award their teacher by bringing in all the accessories needed for a perfect lunch. Plan for a cardboard-sized table to be brought into the classroom and place a white table cloth on it. (If there's no room in the classroom, ask the school's administer if you may use a room that has a bit more space.) Set the table with a white tablecloth, cloth napkins, fine china or ceramic plates and bowls, crystal glassware and real silverware. Don't forget to add a lovely centerpiece of fresh flowers. Create a menu of simple, yet delicious foods for her to choose from and let her be the guest of honor. Since preschoolers love to help, let them play host or hostess and cater to their teacher. They can serve her a drink and bring the main course, side dishes and dessert. While she is eating they can sing her a song or recite a poem that shows her how much she is appreciated. You and the other parents may also choose to bring extra portions of food for the preschoolers and the rest of the guests to enjoy.
