Create labels for all your file folders, storage space and any other supplies you may need. You can also create specific areas and labels for each preschooler. For example, you can label your file folders according to your lesson plan, activity or even the day of the week. You can also make separate storage containers for each student. Having everything neatly labeled will make it easily accessible for you and your students.
Create a section in your classroom to hold specific supplies. For example, if you have an art corner, you can buy storage containers for basic art supplies for the kids to use. You can sort the containers by the type of supply (markers, crayons, rulers or glue) or even by activity (art, science, reading or music).
Organize your files and folders in a convenient location. If you have a desk, select a drawer to hold just your lesson plans, log books or any other paperwork. Use a separate drawer for activity ideas and another drawer for games and supplies. If space is limited, you can buy portable shelves and drawers to hold your supplies.
Sort all teaching books from student books. You should organize your bookshelf by what is easiest for you. Books can be arranged by category or author. You can color code shelves so if a preschooler is looking for a specific book you can guide him to a particular shelf.
Create a calendar for your desk. This helps you look at lesson plans or meetings at a glance. You can keep track of specific lessons or games you want to incorporate in your classroom. You can also use this space to make a to-do list of supplies that are getting low or things you may need.
