How to Change Inch Sizes to Metric

Inches is a common unit of distance in the imperial system of measurements. The metric system's standard unit is the meter. Other metric units of distance include the millimeter, centimeter and kilometer. The metric prefixes each stand for a power of 10: "Milli-" stands for 0.001; "centi-" stands for 0.01; and "kilo-" stands for 1,000. Knowing the value of the metric prefix and the fact that each inch equals 2.54 cm allows you to convert any inch size to metric units.
