Instructions

  1. Growing the Bean

    • 1

Soak a paper towel with water and ring out the excess, leaving it damp but not dripping.

    • 2

Place a dry bean inside the paper towel, covering it.

    • 3

Place the paper towel inside of a paper cup. Arrange the towel so that the bean is near the top of the cup, allowing sun to reach it.

    • 4

Set the cup on a window sill.

    • 5

Allow the seed to germinate for a few days. If the paper towel appears to be completely dry, sprinkle water lightly over it to keep it slightly damp.

    Replanting the Bean

    • 6

Allow the bean to grow for a few days after it begins to sprout before removing it from the paper towel. Place the bean in a small flower pot filled three-fourths with soil. Lightly cover the bean with soil, burying it at a depth that is equal to half of the bean's size.

    • 7

Place the flower pot in the sunlight and water lightly, keeping the soil moist.
