Place a dried pinto bean in between two paper towels.
Wet the paper towels thoroughly.
Insert the soaked paper towels into a plastic bag.
Place the plastic bag into a dark location for one week to allow it to sprout.
Fill a paper cup with potting soil.
Remove the sprouted bean from the paper towels, and insert the sprouted bean into the soil.
Cover the bean with more soil.
Pour a small amount of water over the soil.
Place the cup in a sunny location. After a couple weeks, the sprouted bean will grow into a bean plant.
