Why does Ramona Quimby become a kindergarten drop-out?

Ramona Quimby doesn't become a kindergarten dropout in the Beverly Cleary books. She struggles in kindergarten, and it's a significant part of her story in *Beezus and Ramona*, but she ultimately completes the year.
