Sign up for popular school fundraising programs. The most popular programs include the General Mills Box Tops for Education Program, the Campbell Soup Company's Labels for Education Program and the Kemps Nickels for Schools Program. Go to the program's website, fill-in the required school and personal contact information, and wait to receive your school's registration information. Some programs require a school employee or official to register the school. If this is the case, speak with the principal of your child's school to inform her you'd like to help, and ask her to designate an appropriate individual to serve as the school's program coordinator and register the school.
Collect the requisite items for the programs you participate. Designate a place to keep the items, such as a drawer, box or bag. Be disciplined about collecting them. Cut off the portions of box tops and soup labels that contain the information you need as soon as you bring the items home. Rinse and collect milk caps as soon as you pour the last cup. Establishing a routine makes you less likely to accidentally throw away valuable items.
Encourage others to support your efforts. Ask school employees, community members and other parents to join you in your quest to earn extra cash for your child's school. Most people are happy to participate in a program that benefits kids, that don't cause inconvenience or cost them anything.
Enroll in the Target Take Charge of Education Program. Input your child's school information at the program website. Enter your Target credit card information. After your enrollment is processed, Target donates up to 1 percent of your REDcard purchases to your child's school.
Take advantage of the Office Depot 5% Back to Schools Program. Shop for school and office supplies at Office Depot. Present your school's program identification number; obtain or apply for your school's number at your local Office Depot store. Your school receives an Office Depot Merchandise Card that can be used to purchase free supplies.
