Make a bulletin board filled with coupons to help teachers. Students can make coupons that a teacher can redeem for certain tasks, such as cleaning the blackboard or passing out papers. Parents can give coupons or gift cards that the teacher can use at restaurants or stores. One might even include a coupon for a spa or weekend getaway. Attach the coupons to the bulletin board, along with pictures of the students.
Say thank you in as many languages as you can. Students and parents can work together on this bulletin board. It might include small posters that say thank you in foreign languages, along with pictures of colorful costumes indicative of the countries.
Write essays on what it means to be thankful or have the students write lists of the many ways they are thankful for their teacher. Older students can write essays and younger students can make lists. Write or type these on colorful paper and hang them on a bulletin board. Make a banner that says “Thank You” to hang at the top of the bulletin board.
Make the bulletin board one large acrostic. Take the first letters of the teacher's name and come up with adjectives or phrases to describe him, starting with those letters. Make the first letter larger and a different color from the other letters so it is easy to see that you spelled out the teacher's name.
Say thank you with handwritten thank-you notes. Each family should write a thank-you note showing appreciation for the teacher. Attach these to the bulletin board and post them in a random arrangement. Attach the envelopes behind the cards to give the bulletin board depth. The teacher can take them home later to re-read and cherish.
