Decide who will sponsor your fundraiser. A nonprofit parent group, such as the PTA or Booster Club, can start the fundraiser. School subgroups, such as your child's soccer team or science club, can also fundraise, but they must be backed by a nonprofit organization. Ask other parents to help you organize and plan the fundraiser and choose one parent to be the main coordinator. Decide your fundraising goal and set start and end dates for your fundraiser.
Contact Scrip to place your first order. You can contact any Scrip center, as it is as nationwide program. Provide information about your nonprofit, such as its name, address and tax identification number. Choose the gift cards you will sell. You can select locally based stores and restaurants, such as Panera Bread of Iowa, that have partnered with Scrip. Decide how you will promote your fundraiser and how you will train students and parents to sell Scrip gift cards. You may want to hold a school assembly or parent meeting to ensure that everyone receives the same information. Scrip can provide you with the materials, such as brochures, that you need. Ask your students and parents to collect Scrip orders from their friends and family members and set a deadline to turn them in.
Collect your first orders from students and parents. Count how many gift cards you've sold and then place your order for those cards. When you receive them and verify that you've gotten the correct number, distribute them to your students along with new order forms so that they can continue to collect orders.
