Contact the office of the school where you wish to receive the progress report. Tell them that you wish to receive the progress report and tell them the name of the student. You will need to give them some information, such as the student's name, birthday and address. They will direct you to the office or person in charge of student records.
Fill out the paperwork required to obtain the student's progress report. If you live in another state, the school can mail or fax you the paperwork and you can mail or fax the paperwork back. A copy of your driver's licence may be required to verify your identification.
Fax or mail a copy of your divorce decree proving that you have authority granted you by a court of law, such as joint custody or full custody of your child, therefore granting you the right to see your child's progress report. In many schools, if you cannot provide the proof from a divorce degree or a court document, the school cannot grant you access to the child's records.
Fill out the paperwork to be able to access the progress report and the child's records online via the school's database. You will be able to track the student's absences and class test scores and homework assignments in some classes, as well as send notes back and forth to teachers through that system.
