Write the entire verse to be learned on a sheet of paper and place it where everyone can see it.
Write each word from the verse that you want the kids to learn on a separate index card.
Place all of the index cards face down on a flat surface. Shuffle them. Take turns picking one card each to find the first word in the verse. Each time an incorrect word is found, place it back in its original spot, face down, on the table.
Turn the index card over and place it in the correct order to create the verse, when a correct word is found. To be correct, the word found must be the next word in the verse. Repeat until the entire verse is assembled.
Write the verse in large letters on a large sheet of paper. Post it in a place that's easy for all participants to see.
Sit in a circle or stand in front of one another if only two people are participating.
Say the first word of the verse and pass the ball to one of the players. Instruct the player to say the next word of the verse and pass the ball to another player -- if applicable -- or back to you. Repeat the action, taking turns, until you have recited the whole verse.
Repeat Steps 1 to 3 as many times as it takes for the players to be able to recite the verse on their own.
