2. Successfully integrated SEL practices: With many of my students feeling stress associated with their changed learning experiences at home, I made focused efforts to integrate social-emotional learning (SEL) strategies in classroom teaching. I incorporated activities to nurture emotional wellness, mindfulness, communication skills, and positive relationship-building, which my students appreciated greatly.
3. Promoted diversity and inclusion. I took strides to foster a more inclusive learning environment that embraced individuals of all backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives. Actively promoting diversity allowed every student to contribute and feel heard through classroom activities, debates, and individual projects.
4. Collaborated with peers effectively: In navigating both remote and in-person teaching modes, collaborating with fellow teachers proved crucial. By actively participating in discussions with the faculty about effective pedagogies, classroom management ideas, and student support resources, I have been able to provide even better educational outcomes for my own students.
5. Adapted easily to hybrid teaching and virtual environments: The shift to both online and hybrid modes required adaptability skills, and Im happy to note that I managed to adjust successfully. Being proficient in online learning platforms and leveraging video, conferencing techniques were vital for maintaining engaging learning experiences.
