Reindeer Footprint Projects

Reindeer footprint crafts are fun for preschoolers as well as adults. The crafts are useful for more than just wall decorations as reindeer footprints are an ideal addition to a gift or a card. Use homemade rubber stamps and pieces of heavy card paper to decorate with reindeer around the holidays and during the winter months.
  1. Handprint and Footprint Craft

    • Trace one footprint per child. Trace both hands. Cut out all three tracings and glue the hands behind the toes to look like antlers. Allow the child to add or draw eyes and a nose. If the nose is placed midway on the foot, a bow or ribbon can be added to the heel of the foot. These decorations are great for wall hangings or use on large homemade cards.

    Reindeer Feet Rubber Stamps

    • Use a school eraser and utility knife to create a deer foot stamp. Draw a deer track on the eraser with a pen. Cut out the shape with the knife, peeling away the layer of eraser surrounding the image. The result is a homemade stamp which is useful with paint or ink. Use the stamp to create deer tracks across artwork, presents for parents or other holiday related crafts.

    Create Gift Wrap

    • Use the rubber stamp from above to create deer-related gift wrap. Lay heavy paper or plain gift wrap on a flat surface. Stamp deer tracks across the length of the wrap. Place a reindeer at the end of the path of footprints. Fill gaps with other reindeer footprint paths leading to reindeer. Get creative and cross paths. Use the wrap to cover gifts.

    Holiday Cards

    • Use the footprint reindeer and the reindeer paws stamp to make a personalized card. Stamp tracks across the card and use the footprint on the front of the card. If a smaller card is desired, skip the handprints and draw the antlers onto the card front with a black marker above the attached foot print. These cards are great for Christmas and winter time birthdays.
