Enter the school-administered username and password to log into the SIMS program.
Click “Tools,” select “Curriculum & Lesson Planner,” and click on “School Plans.”
Right-click on “My Classes Today” to add or modify a lesson plan for that specific day. Enter the date of the class period or select a date from previous entries to modify a previously entered lesson plan.
Edit text as desired when the lesson plan appears. If no lesson plan appears for the date entered, enter a new plan by inputting text. Note: you may copy and paste text from another document, but you may not attach a separate document as a lesson plan. You must make all entries manually in the SIMS program.
Save entered lesson plans as “Drafts,” if you are not ready to publish them. When you attempt to exit SIMS program, you will receive an automatic prompt to provide a name for the draft.
Click the “Status” tab that appears over the lesson plan to change the status from “Draft” to “Actual” to publish the lesson plan.
Click “Focus,” and select “School,” “Curriculum & Lesson Planner” and “School Plans” to add or remove courses or classes from the system. Hover the mouse over the gray cells on the left panel to view current classes. Double-click the gray cells next to a course to gain edit control. Click to select the course that you want to delete and click the “Delete” box at the bottom of the panel. Right-click to “Add” a new course. Note that many SIMS programs restrict the capability to add or remove courses to school administrators.
Click “Tools,” select “Curriculum & Lesson Planner,” and click on the “Cohorts” tab to allow other teachers to view your published lesson plans. Click the choice to “Add” or “Remove” names. You must a teacher’s SIMS-registered name.
