Provide consequences for behavior that interferes with the learning of others. Whatever rules of behavior you set need to be consistently enforced n a calm and positive manner.
Reward her frequently by paying attention to her when she is doing her work. Rewards can be through verbal praise, a pat on the back, two thumbs up, or something tangible.
Give him a job in the classroom that allows him to get appropriate attention from his peers. Jobs can include handing out the assignment sheets or picking up the materials after everyone is done with their work. Ensure that a time limit is set with the duty so that he does not take too much time away from his peers.
Set aside some special time with the child during the day, perhaps when the rest of the students are busy working or reading quietly, to inquire about how her day is going. By doing so, she gets one-to-one attention from the teacher, feels special and feels as if she is a part of the class.
Create a bulletin board that invites all students to post their personal news stories. On Monday, tell the students to write a short paragraph about a personal experience. When they are done have them staple their stories to the board. Throughout the week, randomly select a story to read out loud. With this intervention, all students benefit and the class clown can get some attention from everyone,
