How to Transfer KG to LB

There are online free tools that help you to transfer kilograms (kg) to pounds (lb.), but calculating it yourself is just as easy as looking it up online. Many people round up the numbers to convert kg into lb., because it is not easy to calculate decimal numbers; however, this is not always a good choice. Rounding up can be problematic while dealing with precise numbers, for instance, when cooking a foreign recipe or evaluating the weight of a package. Fortunately, to transfer kg to lb., you can use a mental trick to make it easier.

Instructions

    • 1

Multiply the number of kg by 11. For example, 24 kg x 11 = 264.

    • 2

Add the product by its own number or multiply by 2.

      For example, 264 + 264 = 528 or 264 x 2 = 528.

    • 3

Place the decimal one space to the left starting from the digit further to the right. The result in the example is 52.8.
