Add a circle for the cat's head. A cat's head is shaped similar to a human's head.
Draw an oval from one side of the cat's head to make the body. This is a cat standing. If the cat is sitting, however, the oval should be drawn downward from the head.
Include the cat's front paws. These should be in the front toward the head for a standing cat and underneath the chin for a sitting cat.
Add the back legs. These are toward the back of a standing cat and on either side of a sitting cat.
Place the cat's tail. The tail is behind the back legs coming from the rear of a standing cat, and it can simply be coming up from behind a sitting cat.
Fill in the face. This can be the fun part for small kids. The ears are triangles. The eyes of shaped like footballs. The nose is an upside down triangle or oval. The mouth consists of one line coming straight down from the nose and then two half circles on either side.
Color in the kitty cat. Again, this is a fun part for kids. Let their imaginations go wild with spots, stripes and various colors.
