Provide worksheets that have objects that students can measure with a ruler. You can require your students to measure in different units as well. For example, your worksheet might have five different lines that your students must measure in inches and in centimeters.
Pass out worksheets that have pictures of objects, along with a picture of a ruler next to the objects. The students must then read the measurement on the ruler.
Give your students worksheets in which they must estimate the measurement of various items. You may want to use multiple choice with this. For example, you might ask, "What is the length of a sheet of paper? a. 11 inches b. 11 millimeters c. 11 feet."
Use worksheets that introduce fractional measurements and the rounding of measurements. For instance, you might have a worksheet in which students must measure lines and round to the nearest half inch.
