How to Avoid Getting Tackled

A tackle is used in sports to stop the progress of a player on the opposing team. A tackle can be used in situations outside of sports by a person trying to stop another person. Avoiding a tackle will allow you to freely continue the action you were originally preforming before the threat of being tackled. Techniques that are used in sports to avoid tackles can also be used outside of sports.

Instructions

    • 1

Trick your attacker into thinking that you are going in one direction and then go in the opposite direction.

    • 2

Pretend that you are about to throw something in your hands that your attacker wants. If you are about to be tackled so your attacker can acquire an item in your hands, pretend to throw the item and run past her.

    • 3

Out run your attacker. You can avoid being tackled by running away from her faster than she can catch up.

    • 4

Pretend to call a truce or a timeout. When your attacker approaches, hold up your hands in the shape of a T to signal for a timeout or yell "Truce." When your attacker stops moving towards you, run away.
