High School Football Decorating Ideas

High school football brings a school together by creating unity and school spirit, especially in smaller towns where the community feels a tie to its team. Each weekend of the season, students, parents and community members go to local games to support their football stars. Help celebrate high school football by decorating in a way that demonstrates your team spirit.
  1. Lockers

    • Decorate each player's locker to show your support. Create a small sign to tape on the front of the locker in the shape of a football or your school's mascot. Use a glitter pen to write the player's name and number, along with a good luck message. Personalize the sign each week for that particular game and include a message such as, "Take the Tigers" or "Beat the Bears." Employ the help of your school's cheerleaders or spirit team to create the signs.

    Hallways

    • Decorate the hallways of your high school the day of the game. Tape long sheets of plain butcher paper to the wall and allow students to write good luck messages to their fellow football players. Hang paper footballs or cut-outs of your mascot from the ceiling of the hallway using clear fishing line. Place additional encouraging posters around the hallways to finish the look.

    Door Decorations

    • Host a door decorating contest at your high school. Assign each homeroom to decorate the door of its classroom in a way that supports the football team. Allow classes full creativity in the process and the use of materials such as paper, streamers and glitter to decorate their doors. Provide a pizza party, or similar prize, to the class who shows the most school spirit with their door decorations.

    Vehicles

    • Use shoe polish to decorate both player and fan cars for the game. Include decorations on the bus, if the team travels to the game together. Write messages such as, "Good Luck" or "Go Team" on the windows of the vehicle. Choose shoe polish colors representative of your high school team's colors. On your personal vehicle, write your favorite player's number and name to show extra support. Ensure that you do not block windows with these decorations in a way that makes it unsafe to drive.
