What is friar Laurence doing in ACT ll?

Friar Laurence spends much of his time in Act II speaking with different characters and trying to help them with their issues. He first speaks with Romeo who comes to him for advice about his love for Juliet. Friar Laurence warns him of the dangers of the feud between the Montagues and Capulets, but he also agrees to help the young lovers be together. He later helps Juliet by providing her with a potion to make it seem she has died.
