These books cover adding and subtracting smaller numbers, adding and subtracting larger numbers, multiplication and division. Start with a book that is developmentally appropriate for your child.
Show your child a lesson in the workbook and read over the introduction together.
Play the audio CD that corresponds with the lesson.
Instruct your child to complete the practice problems for the lesson. Check the answers, which are printed in the back of the workbook. Discuss any necessary corrections.
Use the math manipulatives that correspond with the lesson. Hooked on Math provides flash cards and toy money as hands-on tools that help to illustrate various lessons.
Play the game at the end of the lesson with your child to review what was learned.
Chart your child's progress by placing a sticker on his progress chart. This helps to keep your child motivated by celebrating his accomplishments.
