Go to the start button on your computer. Click on programs. Click on Windows Movie Maker. (There are many other applications available that will allow you to create your own movie, but Windows Movie Maker is the easiest. If you don't have a Windows system, you will need to use a different program.)
Add pictures by clicking “File.” Scroll down and click on “Import.” Locate your pictures, and click to add them to the thumbnails in the top portion of your screen.
Create your storyboard by dragging your images from the top into the storyboard line at the bottom. You can place any picture in any slot by simply holding and dragging with your mouse. If you do not see a storyboard at the bottom, click on “View” and select the option “Storyboard.”
Add transitions to your video by clicking “Tools” and then “Video Transitions”. A number of transitions will appear on your screen. You can use the same transition throughout your video or use a different transition for each slide. To do this, simply click on the transition and drag it to the small box after the slide for which you want the transition.
Change the timing of each clip by clicking on the right side of each picture and dragging it to the desired position. You will need to be in the “Timeline” view to do this. Just above the storyboard, click the button that says, “Show Timeline.”
Add text to your video by clicking “Tools” and then “Titles and Credits.” Specify where you want the text to appear on the slide, and type in the text. Clicking on “More Options” will allow you to alter your text color and font.
Add various effects to your video by clicking “Tools” and “Video Effects.” Once the thumbnails appear, simply drag the effect to the appropriate slide. You can use more than one effect per slide.
Add music to your video by clicking “File>Import”. Once imported, your music file will show on the screen along with your slides in the top section. To add the music to the slideshow, be sure you are in “Timeline” view. Click on the music file and drag it to the music line at the bottom of the screen in the “Timeline” section.
Preview your movie by clicking the “Play” button on the movie screen to the right.
Save your video by following both of the following steps: (1) Click “File>Save Project As”. Name your file. This option allows you to come back later and make changes to the project. (2) Click “File>Save Movie File”. From there, follow the directions to save your movie for playback.
Boot up your computer. If your video is long, you may want to ensure that your computer is plugged in and not operating on battery power alone.
Plug in your projector and connect it to your computer with a monitor cable. Turn the projector on and clone the screens by pulling up the “Graphics Display” menu, usually located in the toolbar at the bottom right.
Establish an internet connection, and pull up the website with the desired video (i.e. YouTube). Click on the video of your choice.
Maximize the screen so that the video is the only thing visible.
Hook up speakers by plugging them into the appropriate USB port and headphone/speaker port. Start the movie when ready and make adjustments as necessary.
Download and install the free software “Any Video Converter.”
Open the program, and click on “Download” to download any online video. The program will ask for the URL of the video. Type it in (or copy/paste) and hit “Enter.” Once the video is downloaded, the convert button will activate.
Convert the video into any format you desire. Click the “Convert” button, then select the output format in the menu in the upper right-hand corner. If you wish to play the video using Windows Media Player, wmv format works well.
Save your video in the appropriate file. When it's time to show the movie, you can follow the same steps in the previous section, only you won't need an internet connection.
