Cite the source in the text. Place the last names of the authors in parentheses at the end of the sentence in which the work is cited, then write the page number or page range being cited. The authors' last names should appear in the order tin which they are listed in the source. For two authors, the citation should include both authors' last names, followed by the page number or page range (for example, Jackles and Fairfields 25-62); the same is the case for three authors (for example, Jackles, Fairfields, and Jurgens 72).
When citing a source with four or more authors, list all author names or list the first author's name and replace the remaining author names with "et al" (for example, Gilly, Kakul, Thompsons and Thames 117-118, or Gilly et al. 117-118).
List the book source on the works cited page. The names of the authors should be in alphabetical order, with the last name of the author listed first in the source and then all authors afterward listed beginning with their names. If a middle name is included, include the initial after the first name. For four or more authors, the first author can be listed and the rest replaced with the words "et al." Separate each item with a comma and end the source with a period.
Write the name of the book in italics after the name of the authors, followed by a period. After the period, write the edition of the book, if mentioned, and another period. Write the city in which publishing company is located, a colon, and then the book publisher, followed by a period. Write the year the book was published and end with a period. Some examples include:
1. Dick, Phil K., Robert A. Heinlein, and Isaac Asimov. Stories in Print. Detroit: Fantastic Press, 1960. Print.
2. Dukkas, Jean-Paul, et al. Je me souvieins. 3rd ed. Quebec City: Quebecouis Press, 2007.
List book sources with multiple authors in the bibliography section, if required by an editor or professor. The same rules apply when listing multiple authors of the same work in the bibliography section as when listing them on the works cited page.
