How do you convert your regular grade to an AP weighted grade?

To calculate your AP weighted GPA, you multiply the grade you received in the class by a specific weight. The weights are as follows:

A+ = 5.0

A = 4.0

A- = 3.7

B+ = 3.3

B = 3.0

B- = 2.7

C+ = 2.3

C = 2.0

C- = 1.7

D+ = 1.3

D = 1.0

F = 0

For example, if you received a B+ in an AP class, you would multiply 3.3 by 5 to get a weighted grade of 16.5.

Your AP weighted GPA is then calculated by dividing the total number of weighted grades you earned by the total number of AP classes you took.

For example, if you took 5 AP classes and received the following grades:

A+ in AP English

B+ in AP Calculus

A- in AP Biology

C+ in AP Chemistry

B- in AP Physics

Your total number of weighted grades would be 16.5 (5 x 3.3) + 25.5 (5 x 5) + 13.5 (3 x 4.5) + 11.5 (3 x 3.8) + 8.5 (2 x 4.3) = 75.5.

Your AP weighted GPA would then be 75.5 / 5 = 15.1.
