Schools for the Disabled & Special Needs

Disabled individuals suffering from dyslexia, attention deficit disorder, autism, Asperger's syndrome, mental retardation, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and hearing or speech impairment all need special attention when it comes to education. Similarly, physically disabled children and blind children have special educational needs. Hence, special schools are needed to educate these individuals in a way that allows them to reach their maximum potential without being hindered by their disability.

    Dame Hannah Rogers Trust

    • Dame Hannah Rogers Trust, located in the United Kingdom, is a registered charity that runs special schools for 5- to 19- year-old children with physical disabilities and associated learning and communications problems. The school provides special therapy for students and 24-hour care. Dame Hannah offers a small-group learning process to enable individual personal development. Students who turn 19 can join the +19 program to continue their studies at the school if they wish. Through donations, bungalows were built for such students to reside in, under the school's supervision. This gives them the opportunity to learn how to live and deal with everyday issues, with help and supervision from instructors.
