How to Decorate Your Own My Little Pony

Hasbro's My Little Pony (originally named My Pretty Pony when first released in 1981) offers little girls and toy collectors a nostalgic piece of 1980s toy history. The rubber-plastic toys are smooth with colored tufts of hair for the mane and tail. They are also usually only one solid color, making it easier to decorate and customize your My Little Pony toy with ease. From girlish embellishments to punk-rock inspired decals, decorating your My Little Pony lets you create your own signature toy for decor and collection purposes.

Instructions

    • 1

Clip one or two hair extensions into the pony's mane and tail. Choose colors such as neon orange, pink or purple. Alternatively, you can choose black to create a punk-goth inspired My Little Pony.

    • 2

Paint around the pony's eyes with acrylic paint. Use a fine paintbrush to line the eyes without smudging the paint. Make the line any color you want, depending on the type of effect you want.

    • 3

Squeeze a dot of glue onto the back of a flat-backed gem. Use the needle nose pliers to stick the gem onto the flank of your My Little Pony.

    • 4

Create a design by gluing other gems around the first one. This creates a glitzy adornment on the decorated pony.
