How to Create an Alphabetical Workbook

Exposing young children to the alphabet before they attend kindergarten will ease them into the learning experience and prepare them with the essential tools that allows them to excel. An alphabetical workbook can easily be created for them to learn the individual letters. Each letter can be colored, with pictures associated with it for children to recognize. A place letter-writing practice can also be added.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the clip art program on the computer. Search for a few images that begin with the letter A. Choose a black and white outline of an item for the children to color when working in the book.

    • 2

Insert the images into a desired program on your computer. Arrange them as desired.

    • 3

Insert a large uppercase and lowercase letter "A" next to the image chosen. Choose a font that matches the style of letter that they will be learning. A clip art image may be available for this. If not, draw the letter with the available drawing tools in the program.

    • 4

Draw two parallel lines across the "page" just below the images. Draw a dashed line through the center of the two previously drawn lines. This will create a space for the children to practice writing the letter.

    • 5

Save the page on your computer where you can locate it again.

    • 6

Print as many copies of the page as needed.

    • 7

Repeat the process for the remaining letters of the alphabet.
