Look at the decimal number. If there are no numbers to the left of the decimal, the number is less than one. If the number has more than two numbers to the right of the decimal, round the number up or down as described in the following step.
Look at the third number to the right of the decimal. If it is the number 5 or greater than 5, increase the second number to the right of the decimal by one. If it is the number 4 or less, do not make any changes to the second number from the decimal. For example, .587 would become .59, while .584 would become simply .58.
Multiply the number by 100, which will have the effect of removing the decimal mark. For example, .58 X 100 = 58.
Place a percentage mark to the right of the remaining number. For example, 58%.
