How to Perform the Egg Into a Bottle Experiment

  • Glass bottle with a mouth slightly smaller than an egg
  • Hardboiled egg
  • Matches

Instructions

      Peel the hardboiled egg and pat it dry with a paper towel.

      Roll up a piece of paper about 3 inches square. Twist the paper until it is tightly wound.

      With the bottle in an upright position, light the piece of paper and drop it into the bottle.

      Place the peeled hardboiled egg onto the mouth of the bottle, pointed side down.

      The egg may begin to jiggle around a bit. Once the fire goes out because the oxygen supply is cut off, the egg will quickly be sucked through the mouth of the bottle.
