Instead of using a lot of your resources making large braided loaves of bread to sell, make smaller braided loaves. This will enable you to sell more lower-priced bread to people that may not be able to afford a larger braided loaf. If you are working from a larger loaf recipe, divide your dough into fifths before braiding it. Braid each fifth into an individual smaller loaf and adjust the bake time accordingly.
Some people will spend more money if they can buy braided bread in packs that contain multiple loaves. This will allow them to give loaves away to friends or to have extra bread to save for later. You can price bread packs at a slight discount to entice people to buy more than one loaf.
Selecting a venue that already draws large numbers of people will help more people see your braided bread sale. For example, you can set up a small booth outside of a farmers market to sell your bread where people are already purchasing local, fresh foods.
