How to Make Homeschool Transcripts to Get Into Correspondence School

Any time an individual seeks to be accepted into secondary school, transcripts likely will be required of him or her. An official transcript is one that comes directly from the institution in which you were enrolled and denotes grades, dates of enrollment, test scores and more. For the homeschooled person, this is a document to be created by your main educator in your homeschool situation. Don't be intimidated by the title "official transcript" so often tossed around by educators -- in reality, an official transcript just means one sent directly from the educator to the institution to which you are applying.

Instructions

    • 1

Create a document on which to formulate the student transcript. This should be some sort of word processor, such as Microsoft Word or Excel, Notepad or TextEdit.

    • 2

List at the top of the transcript the homeschooled student's information, including name, Social Security number, address and phone number.

    • 3

List the homeschooled student's academic history. This will be the most time consuming portion. List for each semester or quarter what courses were taken, their unit value and what grades were achieved. Semesters should be a sub-points to freshman, sophomore, junior and senior headings.

    • 4

Include a section for standardized test scores. Some homeschooled students will not take all standardized tests, but typically for entrance into a correspondence school or any other kind of extended education, SAT scores are required.

    • 5

At the bottom of the transcript, list the officiators of the school. Each parental unit must have a title, in addition to any other facilitators of the homeschooled student's education.
