Why do all college majors expect students to have exceptional writing talent?

It's not true that all college majors expect students to have exceptional writing talent. While some majors, such as English or journalism, may place more emphasis on writing skills, many others do not. In fact, some majors, such as mathematics or computer science, may not require much writing at all. For those majors that don't require exceptional writing skills, it's typically assumed that students will develop the necessary skills through their coursework and other experiences during college.
