How to Typically Format and Write a Chicago Style Paper

Writing collegiate essays, and even professional research papers, requires the use of a predetermined style. The Modern Language Association, American Psychological Association and Chicago Manual of Style disciplines are the most used essay styles. Styles are used to foster a sense of clarity and uniformity in certain areas of expertise or to uphold a level of standard within an industry. Following the rules set forth by styles such as the Chicago style requires knowledge with word processors and basic essay structure, such as writing the thesis.
