Create a title for your lab report. It should be concise, yet still give your audience the focus of your experiment.
Write the abstract for your lab report. An abstract is designed to summarize your experiment up in a couple of sentences. Your abstract generally should not exceed 200 words.
Write the introduction for your lab report. The introduction consists of the objectives of the experiment, along with the hypothesis. Include the concept of the experiment and what is already known pertaining to the experiment. One paragraph is usually a sufficient introduction. Limit your introduction to two paragraphs at most.
Explain the methods you used in conducting your experiment. Use concise explanations. Cover the materials and procedures used during the experiment. Describe them in a way that makes the experiment easy to replicate by the reader.
Give the results of the experiment clearly and concisely. If necessary, include graphs, tables and other visuals to assist in explaining your data.
Compare the results to your initial hypothesis. Discuss whether or not the results support the hypothesis. Use the specific data you have collected during your experiment to report hon this. Discuss the factors of the experiment that contributed to the results.
Write a reference section. Cite the references used in the lab such as lab manuals and text books.
