The FAA has two types of flight schools: Part 141 and Part 61. The main difference between the programs is that under Part 141, a school can administer certification flights. Auburn University offers a Part 61 flight program. Auburn's flight program includes Aviation Management which focuses on teaching students how to be effective managers by learning all the different aspects of airline and aviation operations. The program prepares students for jobs with airlines, in corporate aviation and airport management. The Professional Flight Management program teaches students how to be safe and effective pilots by learning all the different aspects of airline and general aviation operations. The Supply Chain Management program teaches students logistics and operations management. This will help to secure positions with retailers, manufacturers, consultants and logistical services.
Flight Training of Mobile, a Part 141 program, offers a wide variety of aviation services. It offers certification in Pilot Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot, Flight Instructor, Airplane Single Engine and the Flight Instructor Instrument Courses. Some of the courses offered under its Part 61 program are Multi-Engine Rating, Instructor Rating and Air Transport Pilot. Financing is available.
Double Bridges, located in Enterprise, is a Part 141 flight school that boasts an extensive syllabus-based training program that provides structured one-on-one training to help you achieve your certification in a short amount of time. It is a VA-approved flight school which means that the school has been approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs and can offer training to veterans, who are eligible to apply for education benefits. Airplane rentals are available.
