      Select the children's book you want to use to explain a point of view under study. For example, you may have the students read a book in which a point of view is evident. You may want to choose a short book at first, so as not to overpower the students to understand.

      Define the point of view from the book you want to teach. Explain to the pupil what the point of view of the book is before having him or her read the book. You can also summarize the whole idea in the book. Make the point of view simple to the pupils in a way that will help them identify it.

      Tell students to take notes as they read through the book. Have them write down points that illustrate the author's point of view. Take time to explain how he or she should take the notes down for better understanding, and encourage small group discussions.
