Write the summary or the abstract. This part of the grant itemizes your qualifications and credibility, explains the reason why you need this grant and what you hope to achieve via this funding, details what activities you will conduct in your parenting classes and lists the total cost you'll need to realize these plans. Write freely; don't censor yourself or your ideas at this stage.
Draft the introduction of the grant. Talk about your qualifications as an educator and the credibility of your school, if relevant. This is the time to list examples and experience, going in-depth and writing as extensively as possible. This should be at least one-third of your proposal.
Work on your problem statement or needs assessment. This is one of the most pivotal aspects of your grant. Explain thoroughly why your parenting classes require this grant and how they will benefit from the money. This explanation should clearly relate to the goals and purposes of your organization.
List the objectives of your parenting classes. Itemize how they will help both parents and children alike and what they intend to accomplish. In the following section, explain how you intend to achieve these objectives, discussing particular methods. Be extremely specific.
Reread everything you've written. Judge how thoroughly you've written your explanation and how strongly you've worded your argument. Delete any repetitive words, and reword any weak or flimsy arguments.
