Accredited Flight Schools

The U.S. Department of Education accredits flight schools in the United States. Many flight schools operate under Part 61 or Part 141 of the Federal Aviation Regulations. A private pilot's license requires 40 hours of flight time under Part 61 and 35 hours under Part 141. However, neither type of flight school is nationally accredited. Nationally accredited flight schools are the best fit for students planning to earn a commercial pilot's license.
