Founded in 1991 by the former world record holder and Olympian Earl Bell, the Bell Athletics Camp in Jonesboro, Arkansas, has become one of the most prestigious pole-vaulting training schools in the United States. Holding classes year-round in schedules referred to as "camp seasons," the school features a professional quality training system, with intense workouts, long practice schedules, and even lectures concerning the theory and practice of pole vaulting. Among the featured trainers are world record holder Jeff Hartwig, Olympians Kellie Suttle, Derek Miles and Jillian Schwartz, and Masters record holder William Bell. This camp trained half of the American Olympic Pole Vaulting team for the 2004 Olympics. Training is available in two- and four-day courses.
Offering courses ranging from two-day "Pole Vault Fundamentals" to five-day "Xtreme Eat Sleep Vault" courses with commuter and overnight accommodations, the Xtreme Athletics Vault camp, in Overland Park, Kansas, features courses for every skill level. Founded by four-time NCAA National Championship winner Doug Lyle, the Xtreme Athletics courses help vaulters with everything from selecting the proper pole to reaching new heights. Overnight participants can enjoy a private bunk as well as activities, including a Midnight Vault Session Lock-In that features indoor vault practice as well as food, videos and other recreational activities.
Featuring a list of world-renowned alumni, including Olympic gold medalist Tim Mack, Japanese record-holder Daichi Sawano, and three-time Canadian champion Rob Pike, the International Pole Vault Camp, held at Mt. SAC San Antonio College in Walnut, California, is one of the most successful pole-vaulting schools in the United States. Instructors include Olympian Giovanni Lanaro and U.S. Champion Jeff Ryan. Camps include lectures, drill sessions, competitive events and professional analysis by coaches and instructors.
With various locations around the United States including California, Ohio and Pennsylvania, Sky Jumpers offers a range of courses from beginners' courses to advanced training and analysis. Instructors include Olympic bronze medalist Jan Johnson, and activities include training, drills, competitions and imitative exercises.
