Make decisions at home or when you're with friends. Practice on deciding quickly even about small things, such as what to buy from the supermarket or which movie to watch. Leadership is not limited to the workplace, so practice your skills at any opportunity.
Encourage colleagues, family members and friends to come talk to you for any problem they face. Whether this is a misunderstanding at work, a problem with children or financial difficulties, you should be available for them. Such occasions will allow you to practice your counseling skills, a vital skill of competent leaders.
