Clean and rinse your pan and its lid thoroughly with soap and water. Wash your hands as well, and rinse them with warm water.

Pour 4 cups of water into your pan and then put 2 tsp. of table salt into the water.

Boil the water, with the lid on the pan, for 15 minutes. Take the pan off the heat and let it cool to room temperature with the lid still in place. Pour the saline into your jar and seal it tightly.
