Instructions

    • 1

Select the pictures you want to modify. Choose photos that have flaws in them.

    • 2

Upload the picture on to your computer and open it in Photoshop. Use a high resolution image that will allow you to see the details of the skin.

    • 3

Duplicate the layer and name them, "blur" and "background." Select an area of the skin and magnify it times four so you can see the skin texture.

    • 4

Select the blur layer and use the Gaussian blur filter (filter>blur>Gaussian blur). Move the slider found on the right side of your screen slowly so details of the image disappear but shape and form remain. When correcting areas around the lips and eyes, use the surface blur filter (filter>blur>surface blur) because it smoothens the skin and retains edge detail.

    • 5

Click on the layers palette and change the blend mode from normal to overlay. This boosts the contrast, making the light tones lighter and the dark tones darker.

    • 6

Select the quick mask tool from the tool bar; it is on the third row from the bottom. Select yellowing teeth with the help of the brush tool, leaving out the lips and gums.

    • 7

Click on "Edit" to give you a drop-down menu that allows you to reduce the saturation of yellow to 75 (edit>image>adjustment>hue/saturation>yellow). Select the dodge tool from the tool bar and adjust its settings: range, Midtones; exposure, 20 percent.

    • 8

Click on the masked areas to whiten them. Be careful not to overdo it.
