How to Lace Steel Toe Combat Boots

Steel-toed boots provide extra protection in various circumstances. They also provide an offensive advantage in combat, since the impact of a steel-toed kick does more damage that a kick from a normal boot. Lacing the boots properly keeps them tight on your foot, which prevents blisters from forming. It also keeps your foot from moving inside the boot and incurring an injury.

Instructions

    • 1

Push the laces through the bottom two eyelets on the boot. Most combat boots are laced all the way down to the toe. Push them through, from the top of one eyelet, and through the bottom of the other eyelet, until there is an even length of lace on each side of the boot.

    • 2

Take one lace and work it through the eyelet on the opposite side, one eyelet above the current position. Follow the same process with the other lace.

    • 3

Continue this process until you have run the laces through every hole to the very top of the boot. Some shoes may have hooks instead of eyelets toward the top of the boot. In this case, simply wrap the lace around the hook.
