Speak Ubbi Dubbi by inserting the infix \"ub\" in front of the vowel in each syllable of a word. For example, the word \"Hi\" would become \"hubi\" and the word \"Greetings\" would become \"Grubeetubings.\"
Practice with small words to get the rhythm of adding the extra syllable. It helps to put a little punch on the \"B\" sound in the extra phoneme. So, if you're trying to get the hang of speaking Ubbi Dubbi and want to say \"Hello\" it helps to say the word as \"huBelluBo.\"
Learn the variation of Ubbi Dubbi known as Obenglobish. The rules are pretty much the same, but instead of inserting \"Ub\" in front of vowels, you use the sound \"op.\" That's why it's called Obenglobish. That's the word \"English\" with \"op\" inserted before vowels: Ob-Engl-ob-ish.
Try something a little more complicated by speaking Alfa-Dalfa. In this version of the language, instead of inserting an entirely new morpheme, you use \"lf\" in front of the vowel that's already there, while keeping the vowel in place. For example, the word \"Greetings\" in Alfa Dalfa would become \"Greelfeetilfings.\"
Learn to say \"Slubow dubown, plubease!\" if you're having difficulty translating (or deleting the extra sounds) when other people talk in Ubbi Dubbi.
Use the handy-dandy Ubbi Dubbi Tranlator found on the PBSKIDS Zoom website (see Resources). The show popularized the language for generations of children.
