How to Learn Computer Typing

Typing is an essential computer skill for anyone who uses a computer on a regular basis. Chicken-pecking does not cut it anymore for many business professionals. You can learn to type on your own by using free online typing programs that provide step-by-step instruction.

You can choose to learn two different typing systems, the traditional QWERTY, or Dvorak. The latter is designed to be easier to learn and more comfortable physically for typists; however, QWERTY is the predominantly used typing format. It is best to learn QWERTY first, and Dvorak later if you wish.
