How to import vocabulary from a Google document into Provoc

Flash cards are one of the most effective ways of learning vocabulary. For Macintosh computers, Provoc is one of the premier flash card programs. However importing vocabulary into Provoc is not always simple. This is particularly true when the language you are learning uses a non-Roman script. However, importing the vocabulary, rather than inputting the words one by one, can save you a lot of time.

Instructions

  1. Importing from a Google doc

    • 1

Highlight the vocabulary words you wish to import on your Google doc. Ensure that the vocabulary format matches Provoc's format. This can be done by ensuring that the columns match. Do not import your English column into the column of the foreign language you are learning!

    • 2

Open the "Stickies" program on your Mac and copy and paste the words there. This can be found by using Spotlight to search for "Stickies" on your Mac.

    • 3

Copy and paste the word from the sticky.

    • 4

Open Provoc and create a new vocabulary list. This can be done by clicking the "+" button at the bottom of the Provoc menu. Give the list a title that describes the corresponding vocabulary.

    • 5

Paste the words from the sticky into Provoc. Ensure that your format matches and that it transfers with no mistakes.
