Create an account on MHS Learn. New students are required to self-register and complete training for the Privacy Act and HIPAA on MHS Learn. Registration requires your complete Social Security number to identify you in the Defense Medical Human Resource System. Only personnel in positions that have access to PHI or PII can register and complete HIPAA training.
Enroll in the required HIPAA training. Navigate through the course catalog tab to find the HIPAA training course your superiors designate. Search using the term "HIPAA%" and leave the "exact phrase" box unchecked to see all courses available for HIPAA training. Once enrolled, some course curricula require first-time users to take a short, self-directed course to assist them in navigating within the curriculum.
Ask questions. MHS Learn offers several means of assistance for its users. In addition to a frequently asked questions (FAQ) and a complete user guide, MHS Learn makes individual support readily available through the MHS Help Support Form.
